The call started at 1:05pm Eastern.

The goal of this call was to review the NANOG 47 survey data and to review abstracts for NANOG 48.

With 10 talks in the tool already, the PC began the process of reviewing abstracts, slides, and processing presentations. The PC is making suggestions on how to arrange some of the talks into more consistent blocks, by arranging certain talks into portions of tracks as agreeable to different presenters.

PC members reviewed the survey data on their own. Results seemed par for the course.

Topic development for NANOG 48 continues, focusing upon the following, but not limited to, areas:

  • Tracks for best practices as a series at NANOG.
  • FCC and Net Neutrality
  • Mobility
  • Impact of short term network use devices, such as kindle and back to my mac.
  • cloud / vmware migration security, 802.1aq
  • wan optimization
  • tracks - inside the dc, outside the datacenter
  • green datacenter, physical dc
  • tutorial: data center power basics, basics of fiber optics
  • failures
  • anti-IPv6 panel / discussion

With that, we completed the call.
